We've had this model, the Westinghouse Virtuoso BJ513V for just over 5 years.of course it's just come out of the extended warranty. On the weekend, the freezer started getting really cold and on Saturday the Fridge is no longer cooling. Anyone else had this occur?

I gather I will need to get someone out to have a look at this. If anyone has any advice on what it would normally cost to fix something like this as I have absolutely no clue. In the process of dealing with this I came across something that would have been useful and saved me some trouble (that Westinghouse won't tell you about). Each time the main control unit was replaced because the auto-defrost function didn't operate. This fault caused the cooling fins to freeze solid to the point where no (cold) air could flow into the fridge. You can check to see if this is your problem by feeling the cold air vent in the fridge when it is 'running'.

The motor and compressor were fine – in fact the freezer was also OK. Speaking with the service technicians it is a common problem with this controller (its located at the back of the fridge in the bottom left hand corner).
